Hanoi: at a crossroads
Hanoi, a city of multiple heritage
Hanoi has had a tumultuous history, one that has left its imprint on the monuments, streets and lifestyles of its citizens. Book your flights to Hanoi and plunge into a melting pot of multiple influences: Chinese, French, ancestral traditions, communist regimes... far from contradicting each other, they come together to form a unique fusion. A kind of symbol of independence, the Temple of Literature, built in 1070 in honour of the Chinese philosopher Confucius, today celebrates the greatest Vietnamese literary figures. Further north, the mausoleum of Hô Chi Minh pays a tribute to the father of the nation with a flag ceremony taking place every day.

Hanoi, streets teeming with life
In the Vietnamese capital, everyday life takes place on the streets. Thanks to your cheap flight to Hanoi, you can dive straight into a hive of activity where the streets fill with the sounds of tooting horns of thousands of scooters, trains which wind their way around the houses and music played by wandering musicians. You'll be amazed by the Old Quarter where the 36 streets were originally each dedicated to one trade, and many still offer the same ranges of pots and pans, bamboo or silk. While you're shopping, stop for a delicious meal of banh bao (filled steamed buns) or phô soup from a street stall: street food is an important part of the Vietnamese cultural tradition.

Hanoi, a Zen capital
"The city within the river" allows you the time to catch your breath. Take advantage of our promotional travel offers to Hanoi and treat yourself to a Zen pause on the banks of Hoàn Ki?m Lake, where the legend of the magic sword originated. Stroll among the shady trees beside the water and watch the people practising tai chi, especially early in the morning. Next, your spiritual journey leads you to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest and most famous in the Vietnamese capital. Booking a round trip to Hanoi will allow you to recharge your batteries, as well as enjoying the lively bustle of Vietnamese street life.
