Flight to Hawaii

Aloha Hawaii

The mere mention of Hawaii conjures up images of a tropical paradise. With its skyscrapers and splendid beaches, Hawaii is unlike any other place on earth. The island subtly combines tradition and modernity, nature and culture. Embark on a magical journey full of fascinating contrasts.

The essentiel

A tropical journey

The Hawaiian archipelago is located roughly 4000 km off the coast of San Francisco. It counts 122 islands and makes up the 50th and most recent state of the United States of America. Only a handful of Hawaii’s islands are actually accessible to tourists…the others are either privately owned or wild and undeveloped. The best-known and most visited islands are Kauai, Oahu, where the capital Honolulu is located, Molokai, Lanai, Big Island and Maui. Just six islands, but they offer visitors a large array of activities and landscapes. Hawaii is also about friendly people, strong cultural identity and lip-smacking food!
The ocean is probably the most visible asset of the archipelago. Enjoy a morning swim, discover sea-kayaking, go on a diving tour diving or indulge in a surf session…many exciting activities await you in the waters of Hawaii. On Maui, expert surfers head for Pe'ahi (aka Jaws), the island's biggest surfing break, to ride massive waves reaching a height of over 20 m. If you feel happier on terra firma, Kauai is the island for you! A remote land of amazing tropical scenery made of lush jungle, steep cliffs, impressive waterfalls and mountainous terrain; it offers a multitude of hiking trails winding through the wild nature.

Explore a unique destination

Nonchalant Honolulu

In Hawaii’s capital, skyscrapers and boutiques rub shoulders with immaculate white sand beaches. Historic landmarks jostle designer stores, outrigger canoes race the waves, and hamburgers are as popular as fresh fish. A hint of Florida mingles with Pacific tradition under the brilliant sun of the capital, a breath of upbeat American hustle with a promise of laidback enjoyment.

On fire!

Volcanoes National Park on Big Island is one of the few places in the world where visitors can come face to face with an active volcano. Enjoy a unique experience in a dramatic natural setting. You can hike or drive around volcanic craters and scalded deserts or take a helicopter ride for a panoramic view of seething red craters and a landscape molded by fiery fountains and rivers of molten lava. Live an incredible adventure and pretend to be a volcanologist for a day!

Sensual dance

Hula is the soul of Hawaii, an ancestral tradition with mythical dimensions. Discover a facet of Hawaii’s cultural heritage through Hula, you will be captivated.  The tattoos (kakau) adorning the dancers’ bodies are also an ancient and sacred art form that expresses a strong cultural identity. Though tattoos have become popular and rather common, in the Hawaiian culture they convey a symbolic attachment to the island.

Diving with turtles

In Kealakekua Bay, the azure waters are an invitation to dive. Whether you like to snorkel or scuba dive, you will enjoy the splendid underwater scenery. The bay is a marine sanctuary sheltering vivid corals and schools of tropical fish, and the slopes of the coral reefs are a favorite haunt for the Hawaiian green turtle. If you’re lucky, you might even come across a few playful dolphins.
